BPNG Supports Waigani Seminar.
The Bank of Papua New Guinea recently presented a cheque of K10 000 kina to the chairman of the Waigani Seminar Mr. Joseph Sukwianomb.
Bank of Papua New Guinea Governor Mr. Loi M Bakani presented the cheque to Mr. Sukwianomb saying that the bank is behind the Secretariat in reviving the Waigani Seminar.
Mr. Bakani said staff will be encouraged to attend the seminar and he hopes that some of the topics in the seminar will be extended to further research work that may be collaborated with the Bank and other entities and the University of Papua New Guinea for other presentations in the next seminar.
Mr. Sukwianomb acknowledged the Bank for the contribution adding that the Waigani Seminar is a platform for national dialogue and debate on issues that are current, historical and issues that challenge us as a nation, and to address global issues as well as national issues.
He said the Seminar has been extended to incorporate everybody, including women’s groups, provincial administrations, students and organizations in addressing the issues of past, present and future using Governance and Leadership as the critical issue that confronts the nation.
The Bank of Papua New Guinea will continue to help and support the Waigani Seminar in the coming years in enhancing research and collaboration among the people of Papua New Guinea.
