40th Anniversary of BPNG Commemorative Banknotes and Postage Stamps

As part of the 40^th Anniversary celebrations, the Bank also issued the 40^th Anniversary postage stamps depicting the images of the former Governors of the Bank of Papua New Guinea.

In November 2013 the Bank celebrated 40^th Anniversary of its establishment. In commemoration of the event the Bank issued 10.0 million pieces in K2, and 3.0 million pieces in K100 banknotes respectively.

The K100 and K2 notes still retains the dimensions, colour and all the design elements of the existing banknote in circulation, however, it incorporates a special overprint of the Bank of Papua New Guinea logo in brown colour located between the Parliament House and the clear window security of the notes.
