Financial inclusion has emerged as a priority for policy makers and regulators in financial sector development, where easier access to financial services have enable many in the population to move out of poverty and become engaged in economic activity, improving their livelihoods in the process. This was also aided by technological advancement such as mobile phone banking.

Bank of Papua New Guinea observe World Red Ribbon Day
Financial Inclusion Expositon to be held at Mt. Hagen from July 15-16, 2016. The Financial Inclusion is to create awareness of new developments in the finance and banking sector with special emphasis making savings services easily accessible and affordable to the majority of the unbanked with special focus on creating a savings culture for the young minds.
The 51st SEACEN Governors’ Conference/ High-level Seminar and 35th SEACEN Board of Governors’ Meeting will be held in Philippines from 25.11.2015 to 27.11.2015
The Conference will provide a forum for the governors of the SEACEN member and observer members to exchange views and share experiences on economic and financial issues of common interest and concern, and to be updated on the world economic outlook and emerging international financial issues. The theme of the Conference will be identified by the Host Bank in consultation with the SEACEN Governors. The SEACEN BOG Meeting, which will be held in conjunction with the SEACEN Governors’ Conference, will decide on policies of strategic importance to SEACEN, approve the SEACEN program of activities, budget, and other administrative matters as recommended by the EXCO; as well as discuss the SEACEN Trust Fund.
The Bank of PNG Anniversary Celebration is important event in the Bank’s calendar and its celebrated with pride and dignity yearly. This year celebration will mark Bank 42nd Anniversary. The Bank will continue to celebrate the growth, transformation and contribution of the Bank in the country.
Bank of PNG has been supporting the Sir Buri Kidu Heart Foundation in its effort to fight heart cancer in PNG. The Bank, under the leadership of Deputy Governor Benny Popoitai hosts an annual Golf Challenge to raise funds for life savings machine, drugs and patient care. This year Sir Buri Kidu Heart Foundation fundraising golf day is on the 23rd of October 2015.
