BPNG held its first Board Meeting for 2015 in Mt. Hagen, Western Highlands Province

The Bank of Papua New Guinea held its first Board Meeting for 2015 in Mount Hagen, Western Highlands Province.

Staff from the Bank flew in to the Province capital days before the scheduled Board Meeting date to sort out logistics and other important issues surrounding the meeting.

Throughout the week of the scheduled meeting date Board Members, Assistant Governors and staff flew into Mt. Hagen despite the many flight cancellations and changes due to the weather.

All nine Board members were present for the meeting which took place at the Orchid Conference Room at the Highlander Hotel.

A closed door session was held by the Board in the morning and this was followed in the afternoon by all four Assistant Governors presenting their group reports to conclude the meeting.

The meeting took up the whole day and this was followed by a cocktail attended by Business houses and representatives from the Western Highlands Provincial Government. It was a time for the Bank to not only acknowledge their support but to also update them on important issues surrounding the Bank and the economy of the country.

The day after the Board meeting a genset was presented to the Reformation Ministries and Churches Network to assist in their Financial Inclusion Projects in Tsak Valley, Enga Province.
